Quarantine - Day 3

I never thought I will have to say this again but, yap, here it goes - she's got the dreaded HFMD. Again.

This next part, though, is hardly surprising - she contracted it on the same day our plane landed (we were in North Carolina, US for 8 days. business trip.). When we received news (email) that two of her classmates have HFMD, we were so certain that she was going to go under as well. There couldn't be a better way to 'celebrate' our homecoming!

True enough!

At least. Thankfully. She has an easier time, second round, at it. Less fuss. Less whining. Porridge has to be blended. Milk portion has to be given 2oz at a go (apparently she created the idea that small = painless). At least she is eating.

This young lady doesn't like to be cooped up at home all day... What more for a week!

Yesterday marked the first time lil' buns replied a 'Why' question with "(be)cause...". That's quite an achievement, in my opinion.

For sure, she has made tremendous progress in her speech (and drama!). She goes leaps and bounds instead of taking mini steps. But. The real deal that causes us to go "and that's how the cookie crumble" is in her answers. Full of wit and imagination.

for e.g.;

"where's YiYi?"
TT: "Gone!"
"How? You never fetch YiYi!"
TT: "Ask YiYi take taxi."
"YiYi no money"
TT: "Ask YiYi use the card. Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti-Ti! Take money!"

That was quite a feat! She made us laughed so hard. Pretty memorable! Thanks, YiYi, for being absent =)))))

We get replies of such manner from her all time. When kids say the darnest thing, they were not wrong. It is never-ending madness holding a conversation with her. Of course, she may ask you silly questions (with her 1001 "What is that?!") BUT I think she is wise beyond her age.

Like how she always thank her daddy for making an effort to fetch mummy home (from school). Or utter a silent thank you before consuming the food that was given to her by others - soups & food that grandma Margaret cooked, treats from school and food that daddy has paid for - and toys too. Gratitude and empathy. Traits I have asked for to be instill in my baby even before she was borne.

Not to forget, a cute little button!

she's a mess of gorgeous chaos... and you can see it in her eyes

I gave her a tub of flour and a bottle of unwanted facial cream for her to play-create-imagine. In between packing & cleaning, it was enriching, to watch her @ work, and totally amusing eavesdropping on her.

The whole session ended in a pool of mushy mess but it was worth-it. I just need to tune down a little more of my OCD! Hahahahahaaa

Petting a snake @ the Istana on the second day of LNY

The Istana was opened to the public and we took the opportunity to take TT to roam the grounds - thinking that there will be bands & lion dance for her entertainment so early in the morning.

There wasn't much activity for us but at least we had fun! A simple morning stroll. Nothing too taxing and the weather was marvelous.

Yesterday we bade farewell to 15 days of LNY celebrations. It ended off with a pot of steaming rice balls (which, of course, the little one didn't get to enjoy because she doesn't like it).

This year's celebration, although quiet, was a blast! We completed the usual rounds of visiting but we got to enjoy more activities with less whining (from her royal highness, obviously!). Her bed time was pushed back by two hours and she had the luxury of feasting on rich food & sweet treats! Glorious! Needless to say, she was a delightful child to play with =)

Also, little buns absolutely adored the Lo-Hei dish! She even coined in "Huat ah!" for all to follow. It slowly morphed into "Good ah!". Don't ask me why! Everywhere she went, there will be a plate of Lo-Hei waiting for her to toss. She's a lucky girl!

Above all, we are truly grateful for her A+ behavior at dinners and during visiting(s). She played with everyone and was hardly a fuss. Of course, we prepared her by talking at length about our itinerary and the do's & don'ts. We even packed toys & crafts materials for her to get busy with. It sure paid off =)

And then... There was dear baby Jovinia (or Xuan Xuan) whom she has grown so attached to.

It sure is nice to be able to celebrate festive seasons with her!
